Seven Ancient Christian Practices for Connecting with God: Soul Sculpting for Lent 2021

February 19- April 3

Lent is the church season that Christians developed to get ready for the amazing event of Easter. Lent is a time we can focus on deepening our connection with God.

This year I am planning to explore some of the prayer practices used by ancient Christians.

We’ll be learning from:
  •  Anthony  (AD 235-356) as he sits in his hermits cave
  •  A group of Egyptian desert monks  (AD 300’s) who get an angelic visit with directions
  •  Tertullian  (b. 160 AD) as he describes a little technique Christians use to keep connected with God all day
  •  Origen ( 254 AD)  as he  recommends  his  favorite prayer postures
  • Augustine (354-430 AD) as he tells his own story of finding Jesus

Soul Sculpting Projects are designed to be quick drops of transformation that we can fit into a busy day.

I hope you’ll join me this Lent as we try out some ancient ways to connect with our very present God.

First 2021 Lenten Soul Sculpting Project begins on February 19
