Sculpting project 19: Spirit Ears Week One
I have never blazed a trail through a thick tropical jungle, but in my imagination it is very interesting and very challenging. Thick undergrowth, hanging vines, exotic plants and birds, big insects, snakes, no view to get the lay of the land beyond a few yards. It would be fascinating but I would feel very lost. Here I am in this thick jungle of possibilities and problems, choices and responsibilities. Sometimes I move through this jungle feeling very capable and other times very lost. I am seriously in need of a guide.
When Jesus left us He did not leave us as orphans. He sent His Spirit to be our guide. John 14.
The Holy Spirit is here and willing to lead us. Our job: listen and follow.
Dive into this Sculpting Project and it will be an amazing adventure whether you are experienced at hearing and following the Spirit or new to the idea .
Sculpting project 19: Spirit Ears
Once a day ask the Holy Spirit for guidance and then follow.
You can do this while you do any activity or as a ‘free time ‘ activity. Be ready for surprises. I find that I am frequently surprised at the fresh directions I hear.
Since the voice of the Spirit is usually not audible hearing the Holy Spirit is sometimes tricky. It takes some practice.
Warning Label: If the ‘ inner voice of the Holy Spirit’ directs you to do or think something that feels questionable then put on the breaks and test the voice before proceeding. Check with a trusted mature Christian and see what they think about the “inner voice’s’ directions.
All who are being led by the Spirit of God are children of God. (Romans 8:14)
This project is based on projects created by Frank Laubach. Much of the world knows him as the creator of Each One Teach One and other exceptional world literacy projects, but I know

taught me that we can train ourselves to listen to the Spirit and follow, moment by moment. And when we listen and follow throughout the day our life becomes ‘gloriously rich’. See Letters by a Modern Mystic and Games with Minutes.
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength. Then secondly, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. (Mark 12:30-31)
Using our strength to sculpt our heart, soul, and mind to love God and our neighbor.
